The problem
How to convert 11,000 pages of legacy print material of many different kinds into searchable, structured online content for a major government client.
The solution
We love the web researched and implemented an innovative workflow system for document processing. The new workflow reduces processing times and automates large sections of work used in converting printed documents into an XML format that will form a web and print-on-demand system for the client. We love the web have saved Capita both time and money over a similar service from existing suppliers whilst reducing project risk and improving delivery times.
Technical details
Source documents in Quark express format, output in Docbook-compliant XML via custom conversion software handling the heavy-lifting with hand post-processing to ensure consistency with source materials.
